I’m running my first 5k this weekend (checking it off the bucket list!) and I’m a little concerned about how to finish this week of training.
The program I was following did M/W/F runs and had the race set for a Sunday, and I bike/walk on T/Th. The race is this Saturday. I don’t want to be tired from training and not be able to finish the race well. It’s a hilly/rough terrain run and I’ve been training on the local paved riverwalk. I know that I can’t run a full 3 miles without stopping yet (up to a mile without stopping though!) so I was planning on doing it in intervals.
My question is should I run/walk the full 3.1 miles M/W/F this week? Or should I switch and run T/Th this week so that it’s every other day still? And should I do the full distance each day or cut it back a little so that I’m not tired day of?
