I’ve been thinking about possibly planning a vow renewal for our 5th wedding anniversary in July 2014. Our two options would be a casual ceremony on a Friday night at the church we were married at, with immediate family and maybe a few friends. Or on a beach, just the two of us. If we did the first option, we would just have everyone meet up after at a causal restaurant for dinner — not an actual reception.
what would you choose?

@MrsEdamame: For me, I’d do just the two of us on the beach. I hated the lime light of my wedding and think that something intimate would be romantic 😀

Five years is amazing, but I think if one of my family members asked me attend their 5 year vowel renewal I would question it. It doesn’t seam like a milestone quite like 10, 20, 25, or 50 years. I voted for holding a private ceremony on the beach. That’s sounds so romantic.

@girltuesday: I agree, I think it’s getting a little out of hand. I would probably only invite people if it were like 50 years.

I’m leaning more towards the beach vow renewal. I’ve found a few Package options that include a few photos (25 ish), the officiant, and location on the beach for around $300. Sounds like a nice romantic option to me!

If you already had a wedding with guests when you got married, there is no need to have guests for a vow renewal at only five years of marriage. I like the private vow renewal idea.

I voted for the intimate beach renewal. I’d save a bigger renewal for a milestone anniversary.
