The hotel I will be staying at will only be about 10 miles away from the ceremony location. And we will stay there for the reception as well. I really don't see the need for a limo service for a car ride that will last 15/20 minutes.
Will it be weird to set up some sort of car service? Most of the family will be coming in from Queens, NY and I don't want them to come in so early in the morning anyway.
Another option is to get a limo service for the minimum hrs and possibly use it as a shuttle service to pick up other guests.
I'm in a similar situation. The venue is only 5 miles from the hotel. We're chartering buses for all guests to use but I don't know what we'll do with the wedding party and ourselves. I'm just inclined to hop on the bus with all of the guests at the end of the reception. Why waste $300+ for a 10 minute ride? Doesn't seem practical to me!
Consider inquiring about a "transfer" service from a limo company (one-way service). Also inquire at your hotel's concierge whether they have something they can help contract for you at a discounted rate or maybe even a house car.
We called a local motor club of antique cars. They are having a caravan for free take us from where we are getting ready to the ceremony/reception sight. Give them an excuse to show off their babies!!! Plus the wives have really gotten into the decoration ideas. Good luck!

posted by vee 5 days agoYou didn't say where your wedding was located exactly, but you could call a town car to drive you to the ceremony, it is much cheaper than a limo.
