Bridal Shower Time

posted 1 month ago in Beehive

How long does Bridal showers generally last if it's held at home? What's considered too short or too long?

i had two at homes, one in my hometown and one in his... both lasted threeish hours? generally i'd plan at least an hour for eating, 30-45 minutes for gifts, and 30-45 minutes if you do bridal shower games. depends on how much everyone knows each other, too... both of my groups were well acquainted so there was a lot of catching up and chatting. :)

Thanks staceyb! Just the answer I was looking for... LOL The thing is 4 of my BFs and I got tickets to a concert and it happens that it's on the night of my shower. I didn't want to be rude but as long as we keep the shower to a 4hr max I think we should be fine.

The ones that I've been to (plus my own) have averaged around the 3 hour mark (that's food, games, present opening).

Now I got to figure out how to politely say I have to hit the road by 6

Some of my people love to just hang out for hours and some how always seem to show up late to events. Plus my shower will be at our house (I get to go shopping while it's getting set up)

NorCalBride - I have hosted a lot of showers (I think like 8 in the last year). This is what usually works for me when I am ready for people to leave. About 5:30, if there are people still hanging around, just stand up and thank your hostesses and thank everyone for coming and say something about how excited you are to see them at the wedding. Then offer to help the hostess clean up. Most people will take the hint.
