Help!! Ideas for Isle Decorations

posted 1 month ago in Beehive

My biggest concern for decorations is the isles in the wedding chapel.  The church just replaced their pews a few years ago and want to keep them in good shape.  They do not allow any decorations on the pews themselves.  No tape, no hangers, nothing.  They don't want scratches from the plastic hangers and they don't want tape or anything sticky taking off any of the wood and polish from the pews.  No exceptions... it was in our contract.

I don't have many ideas for affordable decorations.  I've always liked the idea of having fabric draped down the isles, but I don't know how I'd be able to make it work with this rule in place.  I've thought of using wrought iron standing hangers, but the ones I've found are a little short and I don't really want the extra expense b/c it can get costly (the isle is very long).  Any other ideas out there?

Here's some pictures so you can get an idea... they are a little dark, but you can get a general idea.

Are you allowed to hang things on the pews without tape or plastic (i.e. ribbon)?  If you hung flowers or paper lanterns from ribbon, the ribbon wouldn't scratch.

You could also try a really beautiful aisle runner, something painted or detailed.

you could try just drapping the fabric over the tops of the pews. then hang balls of flowers ( i forget what they're called) every so often to anchor it. also, what about using the floor along th pews?

Along the lines of where lindseyf was going....I was thinking you could have flower arrangements at the foot of some of the pews. Another idea, if you decide not to decorate the pews, is just a really gorgeous runner, which I think you could rent for a decent rate. To add some drama to it all, you could just save the money you would have spent on pew decos and place one or two giant floral arrangments near the altar. Gl!

i'm having 2.5 ft latice boxes topped with draping greenery and tool strung between them. This way nothing is touching the pews. Then they'll be transfered over to the reception venue and lined up in front of the stage bellow our head table to add more visual appeal.
