I know several of my fiance's family members have never been to a wedding with escort or place cards, they always have open seating (very casual country weddings). I'm not sure they will know what to do with them, or to even look for them. I was going to put them on a very visible bulletin-type board during our receiving line/cocktail time, but wanted to include a title/instruction. Any suggestions on what to say? I was thinking something like 'Please take your card with you to your table...' Not so creative or eloquent! Help!
this is so funny because not 2seconds ago I was JUST reading about the difference between escort vs. placecard on this great blog: http://www.sparkliatti.com
the info there might be able to help you come up with some creative ideas.
just have a table set up at the entry way to the room. They will see others picking up their cards and trying to find their table. If that doesn't clue them in, hopefully the table numbers will. and if you're really nervous, have someone make an announcement where the cards are located.
