Do you mean the gift you are giving to the hostess of the shower? If you don't have time to shop or make something, a bottle of wine (if she drinks) or flowers. Boring suggestions, but they always work.
If you have time to make something, I love making homemade limoncello in the summer and giving it to friends in pretty bottles. People love it and it is easy to make, but takes about a week to make. Here is a recipe that you could do, even while you are out of town (because the alcohol and lemons just sit there and brew):
Hi! I heard of a really cute idea here on Weddingbee that I am hoping to use. Just get some really pretty Umbrellas (Vera Bradley, etc) and attach a note saying something like "Thank you, I hope your next shower is as nice as mine"
I'm thinking about going to Penzey's website and giving a gift box of spices that I like to cook with. The 4 packs are about $22 the 8 are more like $40. They're neat to open cuz the packing materials are bay leaves and cinnamon sticks. I think they're fab gifts. But I have to get at least 5 for 2 showers, so I might try the limoncello idea. Thanks for that idea...
I got a really cute thermos and some coffee from Starbucks once. I have also received a really nice decanter from Crate and Barrel, jewelry, and a box of chocolates. I think the most important thing is the thought and effort put into the gift. As someone who has hosted a lot of showers in the past, I don't really care so much about the present, but it makes me happy to have all of my work acknowledged.
Hey ladies,
I really need some quick ideas for shower hostess gifts? What are some of the things you've given or made?
I have a shower on June 1 but will be out of town for work all next week.
Drop pictures if you can!
Thanks!
