We are super close to the wedding, close enough that davids is saying that dresses have to be ordered by the end of the week to be here on time. I have a small, intimate party- 3 people. Today I went to check on everything and one hasn’t gone in when they were asked to do so by March 10th… OK. I have tried to get ahold of this person multiple times but couldn’t. If I haven’t heard from them by Monday then I am going to have to ask them to step out (if in their mind they already haven’t) and ask someone else. I know 2 people who I could ask. I am left however wondering how to ask this close to the wedding. It is not as though they are a 2nd choice, there is of course an order when you decide but since we decided to only go with 3 I cut these 2 ladies from my list.
Any suggestions on how to approach these ladies about taking the spot if it comes to this tommorrow?

Oooooh… I don’t know. Just don’t make them feel like seat fillers.

How necessary is to have 3 ?
Could you just proceed with the 2 you currently have ?
OR maybe ask BOTH the other gals, as sounds like they were both under your consideration at one time.
I’m sure if you appraoched BOTH of them simultaneously… in person, with a 3-way phone call etc… and explained that before you couldn’t imagine 5 maids… but fate has intervened… and now you could do 4… that might soften any “hard feelings” that they might otherwise have being asked this late in the game.
Just a thought… outside the box.
Hope this helps,

Thanks bees. I ended up going ahead and asking my first choice of the two. I didn’t want just 2 maids because while i like the idea of small I felt this was to small. It looks like we are back on track to the wedding!
