- Wedding: July 2013
Well, here I am, a married lady! I’m still amazed at how everything flew by so quickly. I tried my best to savor every minute, but there was so much going on!
I was horribly emotional the morning of the wedding before I headed out for hair & makeup. My poor DH, he thought I was sad or mad. He didn’t get that I was just overwhelmed by the day. Anyway, I felt better when I headed out to meet my mom & sister. However, the weather was pretty crappy, overcast, rainy and a bit chilly. I tried my best to let it go, but the ceremony was outside and we had chosen the venue specifcially for the ceremony site.
Everything is a bit of blur as we setup for the wedding. We had tons of help from our family and friends and they were so great! I think the most difficult part was letting go and letting everyone else take control of setting up and getting ready. I didn’t cry much until everyone else started crying. I cried when I saw my bouquet though – it was absolutely everything I had dreamed of.
The weather was off and on so I let my dad make the decision on outside or inside. The rain stopped for 30 minutes – just long enough for the ceremony. As I came around the hillside in the carriage, I lost it. I saw my hubby, who was crying and I couldn’t help but cry. It was the perfect ceremony and after that, the reception started and the night flew by.
The thing I remember the most were the wonderful speeches and the pie cutting. We did a pie buffet instead of cake and it was perfect. My DH told me he was going to smash the pie in my face and I thought he was joking. Turns out he wasn’t. But never fear, I got him back!
Anyway, on to guest pictures!
I’ll post my pro pictures when they come in, hopefully in the next few weeks. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
