Ok, there is no chance of being able to read that...but from your post title I take it your getting engaged!
CONGRATS!
Congratulations!! So exciting! I'm afraid I can't really answer any of your questions but I'm pretty sure you're allowed to be out-of-your-mind excited, even after 8 years. ;-)
ha ha, much better!
Congratulations again! What an exciting time for you!
I did not go with my FI to get the ring (as it was a suprise proposal) but I do know it took about 6 weeks to come (thats for Tacori) but I am sure, most come sooner etc...
Do you have any pics of the ring yet?
Can't wait to see! :)
how exciting! enjoy very moment!
i've been with my SO a long time too, and we are in the ring designing process. it's taking too long!!! i want it now! /veruca salt :-p
We're selecting the diamonds to go into it tomorrow, so I don't have any pictures of the actual ring yet, but this is what it will basically look like, without the embedded stones in the band.
yay resabug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was with my fiance for 7 years before he popped the question...and we had talked about rings for about 3 years before that...it was painful!!!!!!! :)when I finally got it I think I looked at it for a month straight! but now that we are less than 4 months from the big day I get more and more excited about becoming the Mrs :)
Congratulations!!! You deserve to enjoy every second of this process (especially after 8 years). It is a gorgeous ring.
I have been with my FI for 3.5 years, which has seemed like a long time to me (we are in our early 30s). We are going to pick out the ring this afternoon. I am so excited I have been completely useless today as well. Haven't done a thing, except for talk to my sister on the phone about it and look at rings on the internet.
CONGRATS!
Dude, I was with my now-fiance for 7 years and 4 months when he proposed. Count em! I was beyond excited. Part of me thinks the fact that we had waited so long made it even better ; )
I didn't "know" he purchased the ring until after the fact (though I suspected becuase he kept dropping little hints). He bought the ring on a Thursday in NH and his mom drove it down on Monday night to him Boston when it was ready (it had to be sized). He proposed Tuesday night. He said he wanted to wait until the weekend, but knew that I had plans with my girlfriends on Thursday night and wanted me to be able to "show off" my ring.
So much fun!!
Oh its so pretty! the sides are close to what my band is like! can't wait to see the finished project!
Congrats, and I love your ring!
To answer your questions, my BF and I were together for 6 years (and had known each other 9) before he finally proposed. He told me back in October to pick out a ring, but I didn't get it until this March. It took about 1 month to order it (it's a Verragio). Congratulations again!
Yes, I was that excited too! And we'd been together over 7 years. Somehow, all of the time just made everything seem that much more real. And my ring took ages to finally arrive (but, we were using an heirloom stone that had to be unmounted, a new ring designed around it, and then the ring made).
HAVE FUN! Make sure to post a pic when you have it.
Thank you all so much! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only crazy excited one! I'll keep you all updated and post pictures once we receive it!
Congrats! Such an exciting and fun time.. enjoy every minute!!
YAY!!! Congratulations!!!
I was with DH for 5.5 years when we got engaged and 7 years together by the time we got married...so I know how excited you are. To answer your questions, (1) YES - I was absolutely "this excited" and you have every right to be. Enjoy this time...It's fabulous!
and (2) although DH bought the ring on his own, I believe it took about 2 weeks after he placed his order to have my ring made with my diamonds and sized. I think it would have been sooner, but the jeweler accidentally set my ring in yellow gold at first. DH had to go back the next week to get it reset in white gold.
Are you talking about how long it will take for the ring to be made? Or how long did it take for us to get engaged? It took 6 weeks for my ring to be made and we were engaged after 2 months of "real" dating. We've been married for 6 years this August!
Congrats! Have fun!
Woo hoo! Congrats!
I've been with my FH for 4 years, and yes, we were BOTH very nervous when we went to purchase the ring and pick out the stone. He teaches guitar and we went back to his studio (right across the street from our jeweler) and were just giddy from the moment.
It took about a week and half for it to be complete. It depends on the setting you pick out, honestly. We got our first setting in 3 days, but it wasn't very good quality, so they had us come in and pick a different one. That was ready in the week and a half. I'd say, don't think about it for 2 or 3 weeks. I told myself, it's not gonna be ready for 2 weeks, so when I got it sooner, I was very happy.
Just enjoy this time together, it's so special. Congrats again!
Yeah girl, you should be very excited. Congratulations! engagement period is one of the most exciting time of a girl's life and picking up a ring is definately a huge event. Good luck with finding a ring that you'll really love!
I went with my husband to buy my ring. We didn't think we were actually going to pick a ring out that night. We went to a few jewelry stores with the intention of just looking around. As it turned out we found a ring that was more perfect than either of us thought existed, so that was it. We bought it! it took about three weeks for us to get it. The diamond needed to be set and they polished it. That was the most painful 3 weeks of my entire life!!! Good luck!
I feel your excitement and agitation!! I have also been with my boyfriend for 8 years, and a few weeks ago he sort of pre-proposed to let me know I could go ahead and pick out a ring for the real thing. Naturally, I've had one picked out for years (how sad is that?) but it took 3 weeks to choose the stone (apparently stores just don't have Asschers lying around- what's up with that?) So now- like you- I am just waiting around, trying not to mention it- until the "special moment" occurs! And yes, our families will probably just say, "It's about friggin' time!" I am also wondering how long the production takes. I heard that the entire jewerly industry closes down every July, so we may have to wait a while!!! How's the 'burg these days? (Go "Stillers" and Pens!)
Congrats! Life's so exciting right after you get engaged!

I’m so excited, I don’t even know how to behave! I’ve been utterly useless at work; I’ve been going through this cycle of nervous fidgeting-->getting up to walk around to clear my head-->sitting back down to continue fidgeting. When will this day be over?!
I guess I should elaborate... After 8 spectacular years, my uber-awesome boyfriend and I will be heading over to our jeweler tomorrow afternoon to order and purchase my engagement ring. Holy crap! I just typed the words “my engagement ring” for the first time in my life! I’m freaking out!
So, I have a question for any bees out there that went with your fiancé to purchase the ring. How long did it take for the ring to finally make it to your finger from the time of purchase? A few days? A week? Longer? And how the heck do you DEAL with that wait?!?
I also have a question for all you “lifers” out there who were with your fiancé/spouse for a long time before getting the ring. Were you this excited? Even though you’ve been together forever and everyone you know has been hounding you for years about getting married? Or am I just weird
I’m so excited to join this fabulous community, and I look forward to getting to know all of you wonderful bees!!
