Hi fellow bees, need a little assistance..My Fi and I don’t care much for love poems or readings, but are both 80s music lovers and I thought it would be fun to have an 80s love song turrned into a reading for the ceremony.
I’m trying to think of songs that may not be readily recognisable from the verses, but once the chorus comes along everyone will recognise it as a song, and give them a chuckle, whilst at the same time perfectly encapsulating our offbeat personalities.
Would love to get some song suggestions! Yes, Endless Love is on my shortlist.

I was going to say Love Song too! That was the first thing I thought when I say the thread title. I think it would be an awesome reading!
Or Is This Love? by Whitesnake might be another good one. Or True by Spandau Ballet.

Here’s a link to a list – maybe some of them will trigger memories:

I think “You’re The Inspiration” by Chicago would work well. Some others: “Always” by Atlantic Starr, “Heaven” by Bryan Adams, “Up Where We Belong” by Joe Crocker, “Ain’t Nobody” by Chaka Khan
“Friday I’m In Love” by The Cure. I’ve always wanted that as a wedding song, but alas I’m getting married on a Saturday lol

Climax Blue – I love you. It even says “I made you my wife” – perfect a wedding!!! Also Just the Two of Us by Grover Washington.

“White Wedding”- Billy Idol
I kid, I kid 🙂

Some great suggestions here, am working through them..
I thought it would be fun to do “Never Gonna Give you Up” as a serious reading and then at the chorus have a bunch of friends in the crowd sing it out loud and Rick Roll the entire wedding. Just need to work a little more on Fiance…

@wanderingbride: We got Rick rolled at our wedding and it was a HUGE hit! The best man Rick rolled us at the end of his speech and everyone, including us, loved it. 🙂

@RahlyRah: OH Great now I can’t get that stupid song out of my head! But that is hysterical that you did it at your wedding!
We used the song from The Wedding Singer as our recessional, I think it would be a cute reading!
