buying paper online vs store?

posted 3 months ago in Beehive

i'm looking for some nice thick brown paper for my programs and escort cards.

is it generally better/cheaper to buy online with shipping costs, or to find a good paper store locally??

i live in chicago, if anyone has recommendations for a good, cheap paper store too...

Try Cut Cardstock I got stuff there and it's cheap, and really really good. The same name brands just cheaper then everywhere else.

Also, for a wee bit more you can hit:

Cards and Pockets

I bought all my stuff online, saved a bundle and wouldn't do it differently if I had to.

Cut Cardstock appears to have only shiny paper?

If you can find it in the store, I think that's usually better-- shipping costs kill me, and then don't even think about making returns.

That said, if you can't find anything in store, I used Chocolate Cover from their signature collection at Paper-source.com

if you have had a chance to check it out in person already, then online should be fine, but as rzbina noted, watch out for shipping costs.  i'm a paper snob, so it's important to me to see it and feel it before buying, so i shop in the stores mostly.

I 100% recommend www.paperandmore.com. They are GREAT. You can get as many samples as you'd like, for a nominal cost and very cheap shipping. The Customer Service is great and I had my paper within a few days of ordering. They had the best prices for what I was looking for.
