in light of many recent posts and threads of surprise bachelorette party weekends and trips to Vegas, I wanted to get an idea of what everyone is doing (if anything) for theirs? My girls are all over the country so we're just going to get together after the rehearsal dinner for a drink. Is anyone else going low-key rather than over the top?
My bachelorette weekend was 2 weeks ago in fabulous West Palm Beach. Myself, and all of my BMs and a couple of others traveled in from all over to just chill out and relax. We have already done all the partying, dancing on tables we desire to do- so a nice spa vacation was great.
Going around town dressed up and getting drunk is not my style. If we all did not need a vacation and had to do it locally, a sleepover would have been great also.
I'm not exactly sure what my bm's are planning but I think it is going to be fairly low key. I know we are going dancing somewhere, maybe Pasadena or Newport, and I think they are doing a "pleasure party" before we go out. No vegas for me -- my bm's are already spending a lot of money, they don't need to spend more!
We're going to Vegas, but my BMs and I are spread out all over the country, so a local party wasn't feasible (and I didn't want to go out the night before the wedding). My MOH invited all of my girl friends who are invited to the wedding, and I made it known that I would love my BMs to be there, but that I didn't expect them to.
My girlfriends are scattered all over the country, so I had a few parties, that were thrown whenever (basically when I was in town, for convenience). They mostly started out as just girls out for a nice dinner and drinks. At one we all went to a movie, at one we just hung out at the restaurant all evening over drinks, and at another we went down the block to do some dancing. They were all fun - but all pretty low-key (a few presents, a lot of pictures, in one case a tiara).
my FI and I are having a combined dance - we are both dance tango, so we'll invite our tango friends out for a night of dancing in the arms of as many men/women as we want. definitely low-key and fun - it'll be a couple of weeks before the wedding and a great way to socialize before hunkering down on last minute wedding stuff!
Yes, my girls are all going to dinner the Saturday before the wedding in a halfway point between my highschool hometown friends and now local friends (some in LA county and some in Orange County CA). I just can't see having a "big to do" when I'd rather have my honey with me on vacations and trips.
