I just thought I would share this bit of loveliness... I was looking at one of the 2011 Pronovias dresses and, while I figured it was expensive, I thought I'd search around and find out the price. Pronovias usually aren't too outrageous in price so I was curious. I found a website, that shall remain nameless, and shot them an e-mail asking about it and another dress. This is what they sent back to me:

    Hi,

Pronovias style Aroma $85,833.00  Fantastica $2025.00

With the purchase of Pronovias wedding dress we give you $300.00 to
spend to pick out your headpiece and shoes these 2 items would be free.

Pronovias wedding gowns can not be shipped outside of the United
States, we can ship to Canada.

Haha, yeah freaking right! Good luck with that one!

I'm suprised! I don't care what the price is really, the dress isn't the style I was going for. It's just a beautiful dress and I was just curious. But wow... I could have my wedding like 8 times for that price!

Maybe it was an error when they were typing out the numbers?  I am not familiar with Pronovias dresses at all.  I know that I make mistakes when typing out numbers all the time.

That's the link to the pics on their website. I couldn't find a picture that would let me copy it.

Well with the cold I've had this past week... no thats disgusting lol. That dress really isn't me. I'm the type that if an empty house is for sale I peek in the windows, just because I want to know what it looks like (even though I already have a house and don't plan on moving anytime soon). I was in shock when I read the e-mail because the most I've seen a Pronovias for was $3400.

Well, they would give you the $300 accessory credit:) Usually I don't judge what people spend on wedding dresses, but that makes me raise an eyebrow!  Hopefully it's a typo!  My first house only cost a little more than that!

that HAS to be a typo.  My house cost LESS than that by over 10k!   Wow.. that would pay off what we owe on the mortgage, pay for our wedding, honeymoon, and a couple used cars, and maybe a family trip too! ;)

Nah, I don't think it's a typo. I remember going for a bridal sample sale and I saw a Pronovias on sale for $20,000. Yeah, 20k. Mind you, this is the kind of place where my friend got a Monique Llulier (sp?) for $1399 down from $8,000 so I wonder how much that Pronovias actually was.

For $85,000+, I can't believe they only give a $300 credit.  Heaven forbid they give you a more realistic credit, I mean, what's $1,000 credit when you're spending the equivalent of a super nice sports car?! :)

@happytoBEEhere:  That was my first thought too.  If you are spending that on a dress, there is no way $300 would cover your headpiece OR your shoes.  And what a deal it is...it's like getting a discount of .35 percent on the dress.  Wooo!

That HAS to be a typo, I bet it's $8,533 (which is still outrageous!)

I wouldn't even say it's a nice dress! It's suuper trendy and will look ridiculous in a couple of years.  I can't imagine paying so much money for a dress that my kids will probably laugh at when they see pictures of my wedding in 20 years!!

@EmEv:  I totally agree!  Even a custom Monique Lhuillier or Vera Wang doesn't come close to that price.  In fact, that dress looks like it's based on ML's Sunday Rose dress.  ML made a dress combining the Sunday Rose with another of her dress designs and that was only $35k (haha...ONLY).  As other bees have said $300 seems pretty paltry as a "freebie" when you are spending $85k. $8000 sounds like a much more realistic price for the dress.  Just saying ;)

ditto...this must be a typo.  I think there was a 45K Pnina dress but it was covered in Swarovski crystals...

@BeachFanatic:  I reckon, if I'm spending that much on a dress I'd want more than just a $300 freebie package.  I'd expect about $3,000 worth of freebie package!

Okay, I will eat my words :)  I was so amazed by this thread that I just called a local bridal store that carries Pronovias.  Apparently this is one of the most expensive wedding gowns out there and it was made for their runway show as the grand finale. The bridal salon told me it retails for $87,000 and change!

    @reinab505: You were right!
