My wedding gown is made of silk chiffon, so despite the thin silk lining underneath- it is somewhat see through! I bought a pair of Spanx- the ones that dont have a seam- but the line where the spanx ends and my bare leg begins still shows. I was thinking about wearing nude underwear, but I am afraid those will show too. Anyone have/ had a similar situation and willing to offer suggestions?
I have the same problem, and I'm guessing like me you also can't wear a slip (for me, because of halter-style dress with a low back, and all the slips I find are too bulky and show lines anyway, not to mention the high backs). But if your dress doesn't have a low back, there are spanx strapless slips, so maybe try one of those? If not, I would just go with either the nude underwear or maybe full stockings/capri length by spanx?
I would talk to your seamstress I'm sure she has encountered this with other brides in the past. Perhaps she could sew a slip (or just an extra piece of fabric into the dress for you?

posted by blubryz 2 months agoI had a similar situation and tried spanx as well, though my reason for not wearing them was that I was tremendously uncomfortable.
I just wore nude colored undwear and made sure they were low-rise. If the band goes right over your stomach, it's more likely to be visible.
Good luck! My dress was silk chiffon, too and it was sooo comfortable!
