Need wording help for new idea

posted 2 months ago in Beehive

Ok, so what I am going to do is not "normal" or "standard", but I am doing it anyway.  This is a wording question..

My fh and I have decided to send card to our guests that have RSVP'd with a "yes".  We would like the card to do the following things:

  1. Remind them of the wedding date and time
  2. include a map and detailed directions
  3. include parking instructions
  4. Ask them to please contact us if they will be unable to attend
  5. Give them the website address for more info

I will be DIYing them this week and sending them out about 12 days before the wedding.

Thanks!

This might be cute in a little booklet. When I mean little, I mean like maybe 4" square, with the cover done in a design similar to your invitations, and each of the things you listed on a separate page.

I'm doing something like this, kind of. I'm making a booklet for the guests in the out of town bags when they get there, so I won't be sending it out beforehand. Because I know I have forgotten the invite, directions, etc., so many times when I'm traveling, so I'll just have it for them there when they get to the hotel. I'm fairly certain they'll be able to get to the hotels but from there who knows. I'm including directions, phone numbers, area attractions, etc. My booklet is going to be 8.5x11 folded in half, with the same theme as the invites.

But I like your idea of sending it too. Unfortunately I'm a little too close to my date for that. And a really easy way to do it is to get the Avery Postcards/Index Cards (3381) and print each piece of information on a different card (you can even do front and back). They're easy tear and then you can just punch a hole in one end and tie with a ribbon. That way if they want they can take it apart and just take the directions with them, etc. I just used that product for my post-rehearsal-dinner-gathering card that I'm also going to put in the OOT bag and they're awesome. I'm trying to think of what else I can use them for!

Maybe you can say something like "We're very excited that you're able to celebrate our big day with us. Here's some more information to help make your stay a little more enjoyable!"

Thank you!  jma19 -- I love your last idea for what to say... I'm working on them now. And I feel better that it is not a strange idea.

Not a strange idea at all. If it is, then we're in it together! I'm finishing mine up today. Yes - another thing to check off the list!
