- Wedding: January 2015
I had a feeling it would be today. And it was! I just hadn’t expected the perfectness of it all. My SO was off work today as he is working this weekend, and I was working a half day. I came home as planned. I called out as I always do.
He didn’t reply
Only one dog greeted me….
I walked further in the house, called out again. He called from the kitchen and as I neared the kitchen I saw the other dog Millie pretty much frozen to the spot. She had a note around her neck (the really funny thing is that he’d written the note from her, and put it on her, but 1) she had pulled it off and chewed it, the second he turned his back and 2) wouldn’t then move!!!!)
This was the (semi chewed) note;
And there he was on one knee, flowers in one hand, ring in the other. Looking handsome and incredibly happy. The flowers are in our wedding colours – purple and orange, and I’m thinking I may use these as inspiration for my bouquet
The dogs we going mad, it was all a bit maniac, I knealt down with him, he told me how much he loved me and how much I meant to him, asked me to marry him, and of course I said yes!!
The ring is stunning. It’s been 4 months in the process, of designing and making, but it HAS been worth the wait. Platinum and 0.8 carat diamond, one of a kind, entirely custom made by him for me. The meaning behind it is one – me; the diamond. Two – us; the two bands crossing over and then entwining together into a unit and family. The hexagonal shape also incorperating my lucky number 6, and will be mirrored as an engraving on our wedding bands
And the fnal surprise was that he has arranged for his parents to travel down, and my mum to come round. He made us all lunch, we had a gloriously relaxed afternoon all together in our garden, drinking bubbly drinks and surrounded with love. Then he made us all dinner.
I really have had the perfect day. He has surprised me, and spoiled me entirely.
