I have been stalking this and many other boards for MONTHS looking for the “one”. All the posts were immensely helpful in me FINALLY picking a ring and I finally decided to return the favor. I have bought and returned a 2ct asha tiffany setting in WG, a 2.5 ct asha in BTD tiffany setting in platinum, a loose super light blue amora gem, an EC Moissanite with side baguettes from moissaniteco, and sol238 from moissaniteco in palladium with a 9mm OEC moissanite. I finally fell in love with this Michael B lace set replica done by Amcor design. I felt almost like Goldilocks in this process…asha 1 & 2–beautiful but too white, EC had bad prongs and was too yellow, the palladium of sol238a was too grey and now the lace set is just right:)
In the process I also got a double halo with a plain shank and the inner halo of rose gold with a .5 ct rb moissanite that I absolutely adore also custom made by Amcor. It was supposed to hold an heirloom diamond from my late grandmother but UPS lost it and STILL 4 months later continues to deny my insurance claims:( That is a whole other story though.
Anyway here she is, I love how big and chunky it is. The sparkle and fire are AMAZEBALLS! My last ering was a 1 ct princess in platinum and although my finace could afford a diamond I made it very clear that in my opinion–having been there and done that with a $10,000 ring I did not ever want another diamond. It made me uncomfortable and I would rather take our 5 kids to disney with the money a ring costs:) Nobody has asked if it was “real”…all I get are comments on how unique and beautiful it is to which I simply reply “thank you”. I have told those closest to me who are also fellow science geeks and they truly appreciate the stone.
Stats- Size 8.5, white gold, 42 small diamonds in the “lace”, and the center is a 9mm unenhanced OEC moissanite with double claw prongs of perfection:)
