- Wedding: May 2013
I joined weddingbee just to warn future brides from ordering your dress from copykittendresses.com I had a horrible experince with them.
I thought the dress I wanted could 1.not be found in a regular wedding dress store since i wanted a sexier more cocktail style dress (we got married in Vegas) or 2.that I couldnt afford a couture gown. I somehow found copykittendresses.com and started contacting them regarding the process of how the dress would be made. I wanted to make sure it wouldnt be sent out of the country and made in a factory or something. Racheal emailed me back and forth promptly and seemed so confident that the picture I sent in could easily be replicated.
I expressed my concern about not actually going in for fittings etc. however she stated I would receive weekly pictures of the dress, the process and also fabric swatches all along the way so that made me feel more secure about hiring them. I paid for half of the dress and waited and waited, I thought I had ordered the dress with enought time to spare so I would have at least 2 weeks to find something else if need be.
Well it came down to the week of the wedding (which we were leaving for on Thursday) I was calling and calling, constant emailing and SUPRISE no response….for Days! I was freaking out, sure enough Monday night rolls around and I’m literally on my way to the mall to see if I can find anything white and they send me an EMAIL with a picture of the finished dress and asking for the last 1/2 of the money. In the picture the dress was on a white mannequin so it was really hard to read but at this point I was so desperate that I just said “send it” and paid the rest of the money. Again, this was Monday night, so the next day after they gave me some shit about the payment going through since paypal holds the money for somereason and how they really cant “release” the dress until the money goes all the way through they finally deliver it.
It was almost a scene out of a movie where the old grandma gives her own dress to her grandaughter and she tries it on and the sleaves are baggy and hanging off the shoulders, it sags all over…so bad. And the color of my “nude” dress was peach…PEACH! the lace tain was beautiful but since the lace appliques were glued or ironed on there were all these weird strings hanging out and glue residue…ugh. Needless to say it looked nothing like what i had asked for and shown to them and all of this could have been avoided if i had seen pictures like they originally promised. I could not even tell the color of the dress on the last pic because it again was on the white mannequin. My skin is nude like nylon not freaking peach.
So the dress was delivered Tuesday night, too late to find an alteration place, so that left my last day in town to freak and stress out. I found someone to cut peices out and make it somewhat work but it was THE ONLY THING that caused any sort of stress for my special day and I wish i could take it all back. Worst 1,000 bucks ill ever spend in my life.plus $250 in alterations.
Ive been too mad to even write this review until 5 months later. Thanks for nothing you scam of a business. Everytime i feel stupid for hiring you though I go back and read all those promises you sent me that sounded so sincere. I hope no one is stupid enough to trust your words like I did.
