I really really want to be pregnant. This was our first month TTC. We didn’t chart because I am new to all of this but I plugged in my numbers and it calculated when I could have ovulated. I have had mild cramping, clear discharge, and started craving coffee. I POAS though and comes out negative. I can’t afford to get another expensive test. I’m just frustrating myself. AF is due anytime now. AHHHH it is seriously driving me insane. Any other tests out there I can take that would be more accurate?

Huh? What test did you take? If you have a Dollar Tree near you, they sell reliable tests for just a dollar. If you’re not pregnant now, order some WondFo OPKs and HCG strips off of Amazon. It’s like a nickel a test and totally worth it.
Also, try not to symptom spot. You’ll go crazy.

@daybyday: I took 4 First Response tests, but that was a week ago and my period hasn’t started.

@daybyday: I second the dollar store pregnancy tests. If you’re going to be testing every month, you don’t want to buy the full-price ones!

I second the Wondfo pregnancy tests on amazon. Super cheap so you don’t have to feel bad about testing all the time 🙂 I would also recommend charting if you don’t get pregnant this cycle. It can really help to know when you ovulated for sure and therefore when you can reliably take a test and expect your period to arrive. Eliminates a lot of the stress of trying to guess (and keeps you from seeing BFNs). This is especially helpful if you just went off the pill as your cycles may not come like clockwork right away. It’s nice to have a clear picture of what is going on and when. As for the symptoms, I will admit I was guilty of this when I first started trying too. Every symptom I had ever heard for pregnancy I was sure I had. Then I’d hear a symptom from someone who recently found out they were pregnant and suddenly i felt them too! However, I was not pregnant. I have never heard of a pregnant woman craving coffee, but have heard of some saying they couldn’t stomach the taste of coffee. In any case, if you can try not to symptom spot it will really help to stay a bit more sane during the TWW. Easier said than done though, I know! Too bad our bodies like to start displaying symptoms we have never had before just as we start TTC!

+1 to everything MrsEagleEye said. Charting really helped when I was having unpredictably long cycles.

@pinkzebra: You could be preg, but if you took 4 tests a week ago, you would have had a very slim chance of getting a BFP.
Also, there’s a thread not too far down about the sensitivity of pregnancy tests, so you could try and get one that is highly sensitive if you think it will make you feel better.

@pinkzebra: “AF is due anytime now” – so your period isn’t technically late yet and you took 4 tests a week ago? Even if you are pregnant you probably won’t get a positive pregnancy test yet. Wait until you’ve actually missed your period and try testing again with first morning urine.
