@kay01:  This hits home for me because we are moving our elopement up (and changing the location to a local one) so my ill father can attend. It’s a terrible situation to be in and I can’t imagine if it was my child instead of my father – at least my father has lived a long, happy life with 5 kids and plenty of grandkids!

@kay01:  I cried while reading this earlier. I can’t imagine! Poor baby. His parents must be just devastated.

@kay01:  Oh, no worries, I didn’t take it that way at all. At the end of someone’s life, it is expected to end. It is not expected for a 2 year old to die. It’s a completely different sadness. Like you said, the takeaway is to make sure you don’t take loved ones for granted and to make the most of your life now and not put things off.

@Marper:  Thank you. It has been really tough and I am just happy we are able to accomodate and change our elopement around. It’s important to us that my parents are there 🙂

@Marper:  Thank you, that means a lot. I’ve always been a daddy’s girl so it’s incredibly difficult to imagine life without him – especially because I don’t have kids yet. All I can do is focus on what I do have and what I can share with him. At least he got to meet my husband, at least he will get to walk me down the aisle, and at least I got to see him interact with all his grandkids.

I figure I will have plenty of time to be sad and miserable after the inevitable happens BUT that doesn’t mean I have to be sad and miserable now. I am just doing what I can to enjoy him while I can! He gave up so much for us, so I am happy to make my wedding about my family and not just me.

@FauxBoho: Thank you, I appreciate that.

The pictures definitely add a new element of sadness to such an already heartbreaking story. I am so glad his parents got to share that moment with him and get all the pictures they wanted, but OMG it makes me cry! Poor little guy 🙁
