Did anyone experience nosebleeds in their first trimester? My nose has been crazy dry and when I blow there is bloodand blood clots. Sorry for grossing anyone out… It may be because I came off my nasal spray for my allergies until my doctor prescribes me something else.

Try a humidifier 🙂 I’ve had them a ton during second tri (the blood and blood clots…eew), but not during first. Also, have you tried a neti pot for your allergies? I’m assuming your doc took you off the nasal spray because of your pregnancy. I’ve never been brave enough to use the neti pot, but I’ve heard they work wonders!

@basketballwifetobe: Yes. Really common. I had full on bleeds (still do occassionally). Your body is going to do all kinds of fantastic things!

Yep, extremely common. My left nostril is always bloody no matter what right now at 21 weeks.

Argh, yes. It’s been super dry here and I’ve gotten a few. Humidifier definitely helps.

I used to get them. I used to waitress and would get random nosebleeds at work. How wonderful taking someones order and your nose randomly bleeding.

Try a plain saline nasal spray in the meantime to keep your nose hydrated. They sell them by the other allergy stuff I think. It’s safe to use when you’re pregnant because, well, it’s just saline solution.

Check. I’ve had this exact same thing since the first trimester too. Unfortunately, I’m 23.5 weeks and there are still no signs of it tapering off. In fact, I think it really got worse in the 2nd trimester… it’s really difficult to breathe, and to sleep at night.

Phew. Sucks to have them but I’m glad it’s not just me. I sent FI to Target get a humidifier and I’ll grab some saline when I go to pick up my new asthma meds. Thanks again!!

Mine have been occuring more often since I’ve gotten pregnant. I blame it on a mix of dry air and increased blood flow.

yup, i get that blood when i blow sometimes and one time i was doing nothing, I just felt this dripping in my nose and it was a nosebleed. Kind of freaked me out until i googled it and saw that it was a normal pregnancy symptom.
