Oh seriously – when you see any of the jewelry company commercials in December – change the channel!!!!  I always find them to be the most ridiculous with the ‘holiday proposal’ stuff.

Agreed–and even though a proposal at any time would be nice, since there are so many proposals during the holidays, wouldn’t it be better for yours to happen at a different time? I know that I would be happy to have it asap, but at the same time I never really hoped for a holiday engagement.  Before the holidays would have been nice… 🙂

I hate those holiday proposal commercials because when they come on when SO is around I feel awkward. I usually nervously bring up something totally unrelated (ex- My friend’s cat got stuck outside on a windowsill. )

I personally don’t care if it’s around the holidays or not, but since he loves Halloween, and my birthday is in March, I’ve always had a low (okay, AND sometimes high) level of anxiety about whether it’d come Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine’s or my birthday.  At least Easter is a fairly “safe” season where I can ignore it 😛  We gave up cable years back but when I do watch TV that’s not streaming I don’t recall any Cadbury Ring commercials or DeBeers sticking rings in Easter Peeps.

I am hoping for a Christmas engagement I know it is so cliche but I just adore Christmas and I think it would add to our excitement every year remembering how we finally began down the path of becoming our own family on Christmas. I think if he purposed during christmas time I would probably get the same sense of wonder and excitement every time I would look at the ring as I did on Christmas morning as a kid. LOL WOW I am too young to be such a sentimental old hag lol but thats me.

@miss-cupcake: Haha–don’t worry me too. I don’t care how cliched it is. I would love holiday engagement–whether actually finding the ring under the tree, or just at a dinner out, or on Xmas Eve, or New Years Eve! Any time between Dec 24 – Jan 1 would be fine with me! This time of year is so wonderful, I’d love to add to that with an engagement!
