@ScienceGeekgirl:  I think it’s important to include nature into the ceremony some way.  And if you can symbols from your particular branch of paganism.  I’m Norse Pagan and my Groom is Celtic.  So on are altar we have a Thor’s hammer inside a pentacle.  Some find it really important to wear red since that was the traditional color for the celtics and Romans on their wedding day.

I agree that including nature in some way is important. I want to do this by having an outdoor ceremony and reception, and going barefoot, at least for the ceremony, maybe in barefoot sandals.

I think the handfasting is also important, but maybe not for your tradition or tastes.
