@luli29:  I would like to know answers to this too. I ALMOST bought it two days ago, but I’m just a little weary about it. And you know me…I am SO pro supplements. I know it effects Progesterone and Estrogen which is why I’m scared to try it. If no BFP after one more cycle, I will try it.

@luli29:  That’s why I think you would benefit from it. But with me, I don’t think I have the spotting problem… But with my M/C, I feel like that could have been from low progesterone, which makes me want to try it… But I’m so scared! hahaha.

I drink Vitex tea! Its not the supplement, but the tea is made from the berries of the plant (so, Vitex fruit would be right, I suppose). Depending on your specific pills, I’ve heard 2-3 caplets a day. I steep the tea for 10 minutes, and drink 2 cups per day. Not sure if it works or not – its also supposed to take about 2 months before any results can be seen.

Hope that helps a little!

@luli29:  I know that the tea isn’t as strong as the capsules, but I drink a bunch of it and I haven’t had any side effects. Maybe take one a day for a week and then work your way up, just in case?

I don’t remember the exact dosage, but I took Vitex for about six months when we were trying to regulate cycles and bring on ovulation. They say it takes up to three months to fully absorb & give you the benefits you need, so if you don’t have results, that could be why. Having said that, I didn’t find it helped me, so I turfed it & moved on to formal medication. (I do have stubbornly useless ovaries, though.)

I took vitex for about 3 months after taking fertilaid for the same amount of time. Vitex was 1000 times better and brought my cycle length down to 40 days from 80+. It didn’t help me ovulate though and had to take provera and clomid to help me get pregnant. I just remember taking one pill a day.
