Seriously? I want to strangle my husband right now. He speeds CONSTANTLY. If we are in the car and I tell him to slow down he says “don’t tell me how to drive.”
Well lead foot got a ticket this morning. This is probably… his 4th one in a year? That he actually got a ticket for. I know we were pulled over once last year and the guy gave us a warning.
I have actually been pulled over with him ON THE WAY to go pay a ticket before we were married.
ZOMG this annoys me to no end. He always fights them and never gets points on his record but the money! I am not working right now, so it’s technically his cash, but how stupid. This could be totally avoided.
I have gotten one speeding ticket in 13 years. That’s it. Never been pulled over otherwise.
What about you or your SO?

Darling Husband never speeds, he drives like an old man. I am trying to become a reformed speeder.

Oh, uh, well, um – I TRY to go slower but my car won’t let me. Good thing I can usually sweet talk my way out of a ticket, lol. Husband is about the same as me but we’ve been pretty lucky to get no tickets, only warnings. We’re speed demons, I have to admit.

@Sunfire: Haha, I need to tell this excuse to my husband. I just told him “I think I am allowed to tell you to slow down now.” He said “don’t you tell me how to drive, I am the better driver.” I said “I know, the tickets totally prove that.”

My Fiance and I are total rule followers when it comes to driving, me especially (exactly the speed limit, always use blinkers, etc). Fiance tends to speed 1-5 miles above the limit, but nothing more than that.

@deetroitwhat: these darn dearborn cops get my SO all the time…..seriously, you know where the speed traps are, just slow down!!!!

@mmr66: Haha, we’re in the Heights! Howdy neighbor 🙂
I am not sure where he was because he leaves for work at 5 AM and his job is in Auburn Hills. I am guessing he was pulled over closer to there. It sucks, because there isn’t a real easy way to get there from here!

@deetroitwhat: He speeds, but never gets caught. His rule is only to speed behind someone else who is speeding, so that the cop’s radar catches them, and he has time to slow down. HA.

@deetroitwhat: ugh I used to go to OU so I know that drive well….lots of opportunities for tickets!!! My SO works in Taylor…..5 minute commute, no excuse!! Lol

I’ve never been pulled over, but I know what I can get away with where we live. I’m much more careful in my hometown. I know FI’s been pulled over once or twice, but never gotten a ticket.

My Fiance gets way more tickets than I do (I’ve had two in my life, none in the last eight years), but I’m definitely the faster driver. It really almost isn’t even fair. To him, I mean.

My car is just fast, lol. It’s like it doesn’t like going slow and won’t let me. I’ve sweet talked myself out of many, many tickets and I think I’ve gotten around 4 since getting my license. All of them are without demerits though.
My SO is a more careful driver than me but he has a BMW M3 so he definitely has his moments!

@deetroitwhat: I was a speeder & all around aggressive driver. Then I was in a terrible accident and decided nothing- NOTHING- is worth the rush. I try to give myself some cushion time if I have to be somewhere. If I am just coming home or driving somewhere with no appt forget it. NO RUSHING.

My husband speeds but not badly and he has never been pulled over. I speed more/worse than he does but I’ve also never been pulled over *knock on wood*.

I think Fiance has gotten a ticket or two in his lifetime. I have *knock on wood* never gotten a speeding ticket. I am a strict no-more-than-5-above driver, unless I’m pretty much positive that I can get away with it, or if I’m in a long line of cars that are all going over the speed limit. “Catch the train, but don’t be the engine or the caboose” is pretty much the rule there! I LOOOOOOVE my cruise control. Use it all.the.time lol. Fiance is pretty much the same way.
