- Wedding: November 2013
We got our wedding photos this past weekend and it was the BEST Christmas present. Our photographers are so amazing. I could not have asked for a better way to remember our day than the beautiful images they captured. Everything from the day was such a blur in my mind until we got the photos back. Now I can recall all the moments and emotions like it was yesterday. They even put together a lovely slideshow for us that makes me cry every time I watch it. Truely perfect.
Our wedding day was everything we hoped it would be. There was so much love and happiness. The one thing I wish I could change is that my grandmother was not well enough to leave the nursing home for the day. Since she was unable to attend, we did the next best thing. Three of my brothers friends volunteered to spend the day at the nursing home with her and work my laptop so that we could have her on Facetime the entire time. Various family members at the wedding carried around my mom’s iPad so that my grandma could see and be a part of everything.
I want to post so many of the photos. We have almost 800 and it’s so hard to pick only a few favorites to show here. I don’t know how we are going to decide which ones we want to print out and hang around the house. We don’t have enough wall space for how many I would like!
On to the pictures!
DIY escort cards
My husband and his son getting ready
DIY bouquet. The pin was my grandfather’s from when he was in the Navy. It was my old, barrowed, and blue thing.
This is one of my absolute favorites. I love the way the lace and my friend’s tattoos look together.
One of my cousins holding up the iPad so grandma could see me walk down the aisle.
My cousin was our officiant. He actually got ordained just for our wedding. I am so glad he did because I was so much more comfortable with someone I grew up with, as opposed to complete stranger. Plus it made the whole thing more personal.
The wedding party
Blowing a kiss to grandma
All set up for the reception
Father daughter dance
Dancing with my stepson. His favorite song is “Red” and we spent the entire song spinning in circles….
…which resulted in me having a slight asthma attack so “sat out” a few dances.
I love horses and have been riding most of my life. I so wanted a horse and carriage for our wedding but figured it would be to expensive/not possible so I never brought it up. But since my parents know me so well that they arranged to have one there as a surprise.
I will probably post a ton more on this thread but I think this is probably enough for now… 🙂
