- Wedding: October 2013
Sometimes I read posts on here from frantic women, and I remember how I felt as a first time bride, trying to make everything perfect. This is my second wedding, I was young at my first one but it was an all out affair. This is what I took away from it. Keep in mind these few tidbits: you can’t please everyone. EVER. So please you and your FI. People are always going to be rude, have false sense of entitlements, and will hurt your feelings along the way. This is your day, make it special and memorable for you. Don’t worry if your sister hates your venue, or your bf hates your dress. TOO BAD for them! Try to block the negativity out. Weddings seem to bring out the worst in people, don’t let the bad talk ruin this experience for you! I also want you to visualize every wedding you have been to. What do you remember? You probably remember the feelings that you had that day, the emotions of the ceremony and the joining of two lives, the fun and intamacy of the reception. You don’t remember the color of the room the reception was held in, you can’t recall the centerpieces, you don’t really remember the food or the cake. Keep that in mind as you plan your big day. Focus on the important stuff, and everything will fall into place, I promise!
