Hi bees….I am really struggling on what to walk down the aisle to. We are getting married in St Thomas and will have a steel drum band playing. Here’s the catch……I have always loved Cannon in D and on the steel drums it sounds AMAZING!!! But something about the song brings tears to my eyes and I know that I will be a crying mess with it playing. I am very torn b/c I have always envisioned myself walking down to it but I fear that I will be a sobbing mess…LOL
Do I walk down to it knowing I will be a crying mess? Or should I have the bridal party walk in to it and me do something else?
Here are the links to Cannon in D on the Steel Drums:

Canon in D!!! Aaahhh I’m so happy for you, girl! Your day is right around the corner 🙂 🙂

I’m a bit biased because it’s what I’m walking down the aisle to, but I vote “somewhere over the rainbow.” 🙂

That is a tough one! Personally, I wouldn’t want to be crying, so I’d choose something that would make me happy!

@jo.lee: I know I don’t wanna cry I really don’t so that’s why I’m torn…funny thing is I keep playing it trying to mentally prepare myself and nope I get teary eyed ….LOL

I don’t think that you can go wrong with either Canon D or Somewhere Over the Rainbow…
However – if you don’t want to be a sobbing mess…just go with the one that you love next best! if you say, “heck with it! I’m gonna sob one way or the other…” go with Canon! Both are beautiful!

if you think canon will make you cry and you dont want to cry i’d play it safe and go with somewhereb over the rainbow. it will be beautifuk no matter what!

I always cry when I hear Canon in D, too, and that is one of the reasons I am using it for our entrance! Do you really become a sobbing mess or do you just tear up a bit? I think getting teary eyed is fine. If it’s really going to be an ugly cry then use Canon in D for your bridesmaids. It is so beautiful and classic.

@LittleRiver: well I tear up and I am very emotional and shortly after I tear up it’s hard for me to pull it back and the tears start flowing…LOL
@MsMindle: I agree I don’t think I can go wrong with either b/c they are both pretty! Ahhhh decisions…..

I am sure there will be already happy tear temption either way. I don’t think the you should play it for the bridal party but not yourself. If you want to hear it that much use it for you. I think you will end up crying hearing it for the bridal party but then have a “happy song” playing for you but mismatched tears LOL. Just my thought. I plan on having wedding rock music playing to help prevent crying, but as soon as the music stops and I am at the alter I am sure I will be crying anyhow, so its just a preference of when.

@weddingbound: im having the exact same dilemma (well minus the steel drums!)
i love Canon in D but i also don’t want to cry…so i don’t know if i will use it. i think i probably will in the end, so i nominate you use that!

I would skip Canon altogether if you don’t want to cry. If your BM’s walk out to it, you will hear it and become a mess before your entrance 🙁

I LOVE somewhere over the rainbow, were considering that one, Iz Kamakawiwo’ole version. Cannon is D is beautiful too, I just think Somewhere over the rainbow might be more fitting since it’s on the beach???
