We rarely get people at our office in person, maybe 1 person a YEAR comes here (we're internet based). So keep this in mind...

Two weeks ago my boss tells me that a lady named "Toni" is coming in with 2 dogs & to give her a huge discount because my boss & his wife have known her for years. A lady named Toni calls within an hour of my boss' call, came in last week with 2 dogs & I gave her the huge discount. Today my boss told me that his friend Toni never got a call from me. The lady who came in last week was a different Toni! Chances of another person calling the same day my boss told me someone local was coming in is VERY rare, the fact that they both are named Toni is bizarre! I'd never met Toni before so I had no idea, both had 2 dogs & the timing is just so weird.

The weird part is I told the Toni who came in how "oh they know you, its fine, they wanted to give you a discount since you're friends" when she paid with a check. She never said anything about this. If it were me, I'd be like "who knows me? who's my friend?" lol.

So weird.  I hope you're not in trouble!

My boss wasn't mad. He thought it was so wierd. Once I told him I gave her the discount he was kinda disappointed cause we lost money & said we were accidentally ripped off. He understood, I mean, what are the chances??!

What are the chances! It is possible the other (wrong) Toni knew about it? This is like the Twilight Zone.

Idk if the wrong Toni knew it was a mix up. When she called (before she came in) I told her that my boss wanted to give her a discount. I also told her its very rare someone comes in, so maybe she assumed that it was because she was local? I mean, once she paid with the check is when she should have caught on (that's when I said how they knew her/ were friends, etc) but who knows.
