Anything in the book that has really stood out for you, or might be great for other encores? This is a great post!
Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. I picked this book up at my local library and am already halfway through it.
The first couple of chapters scared me. It talks about the reasons you get married and to be honest, a couple of them were my reasons and they said they were bad news. I mean, they are not the ONLY reasons but after reading some more it's perfectly normal and it doesn't mean doom.
So far it's been insightful and I really wish I had the Workbook that went with it. The library doesn't have it. I'm hoping to find some emotional intimacy exercises online that DH and I can do.
The book also kinda validated the feelings I've been having of not measuring up and not being able to get the ghost of the ex wife out of my head. Hopefully in time I can just accept it.
Thanks! I just checked and our library has it. I will check it out on Tuesday, after the holiday! It may be kinder and gentler than the Dr Phil book we have been working through.
Got the book from the library, we like it and are going to work through it. Thanks SO much!

Right now I'm in the process of reading a book called Saving Your Second Marriage Before It Starts by Les and Leslie Parrott. I think it has a lot of good info for encores or anyone marrying an encore.
I'm not a very religious person and while there are bible references, it's not "shoved" down your throat by any means.
Anyway, if anyone is looking for a good relationship book to read - I'd highly reccommend it!
