Go with the black tuxes. I think you'll be happier with the look. I don't think the brown tuxes will stand the test of time, and will go the way of the powder blue tuxes. You can't go wrong sticking with the classics!
We're going with chocolate brown tuxes and I think they look fantastic. We didn't want black tuxes since our girls are going to be in burnt orange and I thought that looked too Halloweeny. For a fall wedding, I think chocolate brown is perfect!

We did chocolate tuxes and loved them!!!! My girls were in chocoloate as well and it didn't look too dark at all and everyone complimented the look!! I'm biased, I say go with the chocolate tuxes!!!
I think the brow tuxes or suits would be fine. I think it would look kindof odd if the guys were in black and everything else is orange and brown they would seem out of place IMO.
@organizedbride11: I agree.
I'm personally not a fan of the brown and black combo.
@organizedbride11: that is one of my big no no's is mixing brown and black.....to me it just doesn't go!!! I was so thrilled when I found out I could get chocolate brown tuxes as was my DH:)

@CaitMarae: Okay I will let my FI know. We will be going to Mens Warehouse. Did u get them there?
@stormy9973: Okay I will let my FI know. We will be going to Mens Warehouse. Did u get them there?
This is the dark brown color Im using. Have u seen at Mensvwarehouse have a dark one like this??

What about this???Dang. Should I ditch the darker brown dress so I can match this?? Oh and they will be wearing tangerine tie and vest.
@CaitMarae me neither, i dont like brown and black together, but i am not sure why!
@Earlybride: i think brown tuxes would be great. i was a bit unsure until i saw the PPs pics and i love it!
There are some really nice brown tuxes out there! Go for it!
While I hate brown and black together, I think brown tuxes and brown dresses it too much brown. Could you get a lighter dress, still in the brown family, like a latte color perhaps? Also, i would skip the vest and just do the tie.
I orginally was going to go with brown tuxes and then we changed our colors and went with black. That being said, I miss that we aren't going to do brown tuxes. I think they look super sharp and will be great for fall. I say go for it!
Angelina did it. Angelina wore a brown gown and Brad wore a black tux to Cannes 2011. I think they looked fantastic.

Here's a wedding picture where the BMs wore brown and the GM wore black. I think it looks great.

Brown and black are both neutrals and can most definitely be worn together. I do it all the time in the fall and the winter. They look rich and classy together. The rule that you can't wear them together is outdated.

@Earlybride: As you originally said I don't know if brown tuxes and brown BM dresses will look right as you said I would be worried it would be too matchy matchy and it would be different shades. Either go for black tuxes or changed the colour of the BM dresses.
@Loribeth: That does look nice. Maybe I can keep the black tuxs but have the guys wear a black bowtie instead of the tangerine tie and or vest??? Hmmmm,Ive gotta think about this.
My dad wore a brown tux, white shirt, white tie, and black sneakers with orange on the racer line (or whatever it's called)... our guys were in white and our ladies were in truffle

Here's another picture of brown dresses with a black tux. In this one the guy has a brown tie on.

Not sure I'm a fan of black tuxes with tangerine... It might be a little much.

But I like this:
@Loribeth: I like that look.Keep the tangerine, but tone it way down.....maybe even just have it on the boutinere?!
I was going to let my FI take care of the tuxs, but I might need to help. Because he loves the tangerine.I liked my original idea of tangerine dresses.lol
So far I was thinking of this for the girls.Without the clulch and that thing around her arms. Now if I can figure out which look would look good with this look.
I think the brown tux will look fine if you find the right one! However, pp posted that black tux with a brown tie and I like that look!!
Yeah it looks like I should scrap the whole tangerine thing on the guys. They can wear a orange flower/boutanere.
here are what my fi's gm are wearing. I made this and mailed them this so they knew where to go and what their outfit was going to look like. THey all loved them they found it so helpful!!!!

Mens wearhouse website you can build the tux to see what it will look like... and see if you like it or not.
I say brown tuxes/suits all the way. I have personally seen both done, my only concern is when you are talking about orange vests/ties..it might look a little too halloweeny!!!
My colors are brown and tiffany blue and I am going wit brown tuxes. I personally DO think they will stand the test of time, since brown tuxes have actually been around forever (unlike the powder blue someone mentions..) I think these look SUPER classy!
There's nothing wrong with brown tuxes, personally I like them, and Men's Warehouse has them. Especially if the bm's are in brown, I don't like brown and black together. Plus like pp said if you have tangerine and black together it might look Halloweeny. Especially for a fall wedding I like the brown!
There are different shades of brown tuxedos. Go to a real tuxedo store, they have coats and the actual tuxedos in store for you to match the brown. Menswearhouse ..you pick from a book. You want to see the brown tuxedos..period

Sorry, there are no users yet.
Okay ladies, my wedding is in October of 2012.My colors are orange and chocolate brown. My BMs will be wearing truffle, a dark brown ,with a tangerine/orange sash.
And with the guys we were just gonna go with a black tux and tangerine tie and vest. But then one of my FSIL suggested the guys wear brown suits with the tangerine tie and vest.
Is that corny?? Too matchy?? For some reason it just doesnt seem right.U dont have to match everything!!!! Right??
Besides, if we did go with a brown tux for the guys,it would have to be as dark as the truffle color.U cant have different shades.Especially in the pics.I dont want my wedding to be a clown convention with these colors.
