Here's a reall cool article from Offbeat Bride on styling dreads.
http://offbeatbride.com/2008/02/wedding-dreadlocks
I think if you have your locs spiral curled, and then pin it up in a really cute updo, the birdcage veil will look beautiful with your hair. Don't worry I'm sure you will look beautiful.
Here are some pics one bride actually is wearing a cage veil but unfortantely you can only see the back. Hope this helps.

Mrs. Swan is a dreadlock bride that wore a birdcage veil & she looks amazing! You should go back to a few of her older posts and check it out! I think you can still do an updo and pull off the cage veil.
I have found that Mr.Kingcake is traditional about things you wouldn't think him to be...and I have learned when he says veil, he means straight-up old school veil. Mr.Kingcake wouldn't even know that a birdcage veil was considered a veil. Just thought I should mention that.
Thank you everyone for your help. The hunt for the veil starts tomorrow, if i don't find one then I will create my own. I will be sure to post my pics when i've finished the creation.
I want a birdcage also but I think I"m going to just make my own flower and feather headpiece also. The feathers just came in today and I have sisterlocs, so I dont' know how I'm going to do this. They are short..????

Hello everyone,
I have dreadlocks that stop about the top of my bra down my back. I didn't know my soon to be hubby wanted me to wear a veil. I found this out last week, and our wedding is in 3 weeks. I didn't go with the traditional brides dress, but opted for a really sexy silver dress from the bridesmaid collection at david's bridal. I am going to attempt to make a cage veil w/ feathers, but need to know how to fix my hair and not look weird. I was all set for an up do with cute hair pins to accent the jewels on the front of my dress. Anyone out there with some pictures of dreadlocks and veils? I've been doing all this by myself, but now I'm nervous about this veil thing. Any suggestions and/or thoughts would be great.
thanks.
