Wow what a process this whole wedding planning thing has been…an emotional rollercoaster for sure. I want to encourage all of you to BUY WEDDING INSURANCE and make sure it includes the “cancelation” agreement. Mine was about $200 total.
Here’s the story. After our first location fell through (my dream location at a nature preserve that was going to be sold so they decided not to book 2013 weddings), we found a gorgeous house in Malibu through a rental company.
Fast forward to April and the house is affected by the Malibu fires but I decide to move forward.
Fast forward to June and the vendor owner stops returning my calls, my texts and my emails. Finally he doesn’t show up for a meeting. I’m freaking out.
Fast forward to today, two months from the wedding, and we’re without a location and without $ that we are trying to recover from the vendor/rental company.
I’m on a very specific budget that I will not go over and my fiance has insisted I maintain regardless of the reasoning.
So here I am two months out trying to get a new location and to get my money back…and a mess as you can imagine.
The one light at the end of all this is my dream location is available now. They are back on to having weddings and, go figure, my date is open (b/c no sane bride books her wedding two months out).
So I find out Friday if I get my money back and if I get to have our wedding.
I’m asking for prayers, positive thoughts, the law of attraction – whatever you believe in. Please. I know people are hungry in this world and there are wars and bigger fish to fry and I recognize that, but I would love for this to go smoothly b/c the rest of my time as a bride has been a bit bumpy to say the least.
And please ladies, get wedding insurance. This may be our only saving grace.
