This seriously looks AMAZING, you are right! All those textures and even hues freakin; WORK! Love it!!
This makes me so happy to see! My girls are all doing coral, short, too. One picked out lace and another picked out one like our girl on the far right! I'm so glad to see they look great together! My 3rd is still looking for hers :)
Thanks ladies! I love seeing other mismatched brides. Everyone I told about the dresses (before the wedding) thought I was nuts, but I actually received a lot of compliments on their dresses. Everyone felt comfortable because they picked what they knew they would look good in, and it totally showed!
I really hope mine turn out this well! I'm doing mismatched aqua, which I haven't seen done yet, so I'm a wee bit scared. :/
my mistmatch bm dress journey was ... a disaster. My youngest sister lives in denmark so she got her dress first- It didn't come till 3 months later so she couldn't try it on or anything or make any changes - also only 1 1/2 months before the wedding and it was the wrong color! - it was almost white! it was supposed to be a light blue...
then my MOH got another dress and it was supposed to be silvery grey - it came dark blue...
so I got my cousin to get her dress the same color as my sisters so it would be two light purples and then the dark blue... it was meh but w.e i had no energy to care.
so at this point I was a mess with it.... well my sister showed up two days before the wedding as a suprise! my cousin was in on the whole thing...
well my sister ordered a purple dress but it came in the wrong color- almost red maroon purple even... BUT!!!! --- I think together it worked
!!!!
and I don't care at all having them there was all that mattered!

@alishaloo: I think the jewel-toned dresses look amazing! I'm so sorry it was a disaster for you!
@frommisstomrs.: Mismatched aqua will look beautiful! I worried a little about the coral because my bridesmaids were stressing about "pink based coral" or "red based coral," but I just told them to do their thing and it was beautiful. I hope you post pictures after the wedding!
Here is my inspiration photo for mistmached BM dresses!! It's my favourite
Mismatched navy here! I LOVED how they all looked - cohesive, and yet like themselves. And 2 of them have already worn their dresses to other events, which made me even happier!

I'm also having mismatched BM dresses, I love this thread!
loving all the mismatched BMs! I wanted to do different shades of blush and champagne but my BMs vetoed the colors. So, I chose 2 different dresses in the same length, color, and fabric and let the girls chose which one they want to wear. Not AS fun as totally mismatched but better than nothing, right?!
@LMD84: Those are really beautiful!! I absolutely love that color!! I'd never really been a fan of this idea until recently, when my DSD had mismatched, burnt orange/persimmon/coral colored bridesmaids dresses for her wedding this fall.
@RahlyRah: and @nativedesires: Very pretty!! Beautiful color palettes!
I love this! We're doing mismatched chocolate browns. One is in a satin flapper-style dress (that she already owned, BM win!), one in a lace sheath with some beading, and one in a kinda shiny cotton (dressy cotton). All different necklines and shapes but all short. I know they're going to look beautiful together! And they all got something they like and feel pretty in and hopefully be able to wear again.
I think it's really nice for everybody to have a chance to wear something that is comfortable and flattering to them. When a uniform dress is required, it may not be so great on everyone involved. :(
Oh wow - I was toying with this idea.... this thread is confirming it for me! Beautiful, ladies! And @alishaloo totally didn't even look like disaster! Looks amazing!
This my idea as well. I gave them the color red, whether it was maroon, bright red, was up to them. I don't care on length either. Two of my bridesmaids are using dresses in there closets. That makes me happy, because I know they already like them! The other needs a little hand, but only cause she's color blind.
@Araya: Yeah a few people (even at the dress shop) had advised against me telling the girls I didn't care about the length, but you know, I guess it might bother some people - but I really thought they all looked awesome. My cousin goes to a private HS that doesn't do prom, so she was really excited to have an excuse to wear a full length gown, and my other bm had a black tie work function a few weeks after the wedding and really wanted something in tea-length. The other girls wore cocktail length dresses they knew they would wear to other weddings. Obviously I'm biased, but I thought they looked great and the varied lengths didn't take away from the look at ALL.
@BartenderPlease: Your dresses are beautiful, and just cemented the fact that I made the right choice. Thanks for pic.
Ahh I totally wanted to...but my bm's were dead set on matching dresses. Our colors are black, white, and lime green. I figured black/white dresses with green accent would be the obvious choice but nope...the ladies were like, "so what's this lime green dress going to look like?"
So I suggested the try out a convertible dress so they could at least have some flexibility and they loved the idea. I also suggested black and they went with it...one said she thought black would be better than green anyway...but then why did they all push for lime green LOL.
All these lovely mismatched wedding parties make me a little sad!! I absolutely LOVEEEE the idea of mismatched dresses.
From the start, I wanted to pick a color and let them choose their own dress. They LOVED the idea, and we were all psyched that they could find dresses they'd actually wear again, especially since I was leaning toward teal/light blue as the color which makes for a lovely summer dress.
But then, when I brought two of them dress shopping, go figure, they both fell in love with the SAME DRESS. And I did too! It's sweetheart neckline, corset back, and has asymmetric ruching all similar to my dress... so it matched PERFECTLY with my dress!
We haven't ordered them yet, because my other two bridesmaids still have to try it on, but I'm pretty sure they'll love it too....
But part of me is a little sad I won't get beautiful mismatched photos like these!!
@Booknerd: SUCCESS! I'm on a mission to corrupt matching-only bridal parties!
Also,
@confettiegg2000: mismatched yellow looks stellar! So sweet!
@BartenderPlease: Where did you get teh dresses?! MY Bridesmaids range from a size size to a size 22 and I have only found one that may look good on all of them, but I as looking into the mismtched.
One is J Crew, one is Tadashi Shoji, and 3 are Bill Levkoff. I think the sizes are 4-20. Good luck!!
I love the mix matched look! Im doing the same thing with my girls all of your guy's pics, everyone looks fantastic =D
My girls wore different shades of blue-green but the same style of dress. It was tough to find a dress that came in enough shades that I liked, but I think it worked well in the end.

I just wanted to show you all this picture of these beautiful ladies in all different coral dresses. Maybe I'm a little biased (since it's my wedding and all), but I think they all look incredible!
