As some of you may have seen me comment previously on another thread, my Darling Husband is very quick witted and has a really strong sense of humor.
Today, after church, DH took me out for a wonderful Mother’s Day dinner. At one point, as we were sitting at our lovely table in front of a large, bay window, waiting for our food to arrive, I found myself looking in the decorative mirror on the wall behind DH’s head, since I discovered that I could see my rings from a perspective that I do not usually get to observe them: from a distance, in bright daylight. I remarked that I couldn’t help but enjoy looking at them. DH just sort of rolled his eyes, shook his head slowly, and smiled in that “She’s looking at her rings … again …” kind of smile.
After we had eaten our meal, and our table had been cleared, I reached across to the middle of the table to hold DH’s hands. Instead of extending his arms to take my hands, I noticed he seemed oblivious to my overture. He was holding one of his hands with the other, and slowly moving them around. I remarked that I was trying to hold his hands, and that I wondered why he wasn’t reaching back across the table to do that. He pretended to be completely distracted, then looked up suddenly and said, “Oh. Sorry. I was just looking at my ring.” HAHAHAHA!
