Every invitation I've received the reply card and envelope have been separate.

I am leaving them out of the envelope. Mine are pocketfolds, so people will have to remove all of the pieces to read everything.
You usually leave them outside the envelope and tucked under the envelope flap.
I honestly don't know the correct answer to this but I am leaving the reply card outside the envelope but tucked under the flap of the envelope to keep the two together. It really can be a matter of preference.
Thats not a dumb question!
The ones I've seen (and ours) were tucked under the flap, but not in the envelope.

yeah, I have only seen them seperate.
Ours were in our invitations that you could detach (a serrated edge - dont know how the proper spelling) then the envelope was seperate

With the reply cards, do you stuff them in the reply envelopes or leave the envelope on the ouside?
