i have wondered that too, but i just can’t see how we would say that yet. i am sure there are some trends and small things here and there that will seem weird in a few decades, but overall, how much can the fashion and hair styles change?  i can’t wrap my head around what a drastic enough change would be that it would be equivalent to comparing the 70s and 80s to now…

I made sure I wouldn’t feel that way 🙂  Then again, I like that first picture…

I’m looking forward to that. I love looking at pictures of my Mum from the 70’s and 80’s and laughing at her hair and clothes. I want to do that with my daughter one day. Of course I’m not going to purposefully make myself look strange but I’m definitely not going to try and create a timeless look.

Well I look at those pictures and others and don’t really say anything like that because that was the style back in the day. Thats what was the trend, so no, I don’t think I’ll ever say “What was I thinking?!”

Haha I think LOTS of kids of those getting married right now will be asking: “Mommy, why was the sky yellow back then??”

But as far as dresses go, I think trends have gone back to classic or more basic fabrics and styles that won’t date quite as quickly as giant poofy taffeta sleeves with lace collars up to the chin.

Its funny, in the first picture – the guys look way more “dated” than the girls!

@Hippos:  Exactly… My kids might laugh at it… As I explain to them “No… these dresses were in style back then! It’s called a mermaid dress” 😉 lol… But seriously, I don’t think it’s a big issue if your clothes are distinct to the time that you got married 🙂
