I've actually seen a video of this happening (sounds like the same idea) and thought it was incredibly sweet, she obviously had no idea what was going on! It would have been fantastic to be there, I don't think I've ever seen a public engagement, but I bet I'd pretty much burst into tears with happiness for them (such a softie!)
That's really sweet, but I probably would have just about died with embarrassment! I told my SO no way in hell hahaah... unless somehow diving was a personal thing between the couple, etc, etc. Whatever floats your boat, I say! But man, I would have died!!!
I've never seen a public engagement or even witnessed anyone I know get engaged. That's too cute :)

I've only ever seen one public proposal; it was at a swanky little Italian restaurant with a violinist playing and it was very awkward because the girl seemed less than thrilled. I felt so bad for the guy!

Today my daughter and I went to the aquarium with my mom and sister since they were in town. At the big window, this guy and girl are part of the demonstration and when the girl turns around, he has a diver holding up a sign saying "Will you marry me?"
It was quite cute. I wonder how much he paid for it, then I wondered if she was a waiting bee here and I'd come back to read it here.LOL
Oh, it's a first because I've never seen a public proposal.LOL
