- Wedding: August 2012
Hey everyone! I know I’m new on this site but I just thought I’d post a few things about my upcoming wedding and what I’ve got done so far. If anyone could give me feedback that would be great!
Well where to start. My SO and I will be getting married some time in August. We had the 18th solidified and had a lot of details planned without full committment but that’s all changed now thanks to some AWESOME news. Let me back up and explain first though. My SO is in the Army National Guard and his unit is stationed in Ft. Pierce, Florida. I currently live in Gainesville and attend the University of Florida and he lives in Jacksonville with his older sister and younger brother for now. Anyway, he was at his monthly drill and they asked who all planned to marry before they are deployed to Afghanistan this year on September 4th. He raised his hand and the next day they had a raffle and his number was called! What he won was beyond amazing considering our circumstances of being a young couple (We’re both 19). He was gifted a completely free wedding!!! Yes I said FREE! The company that is taking care of it will pay for bridesmaid dresses, tuxedos for the groomsmen, the venues, decorations, cake, food, DJ, photography, officiant fees, etc. The only thing that we have to pay out of pocket for is my dress which was paid for by my mother already so no worries on that end.
We are just so thankful for this awesome gift because originally we just invited who we could and there was not going to be a reception at all. We just could not afford it. There would have been no photographer, nothing at all really. Just the ceremony. With this gift we actually have someone planning our wedding for us with our input and can essentially have the wedding we (or mostly I) always wanted! All we’re waiting on now is contact from the company so we can get started!!
Now let’s get to the nitty gritty. By that I mean pictures of course! I have no idea how to resize so these will be big thanks to my awesome Canon.
Here’s the dress. I purchased it from David’s Bridal for $500 thanks to the amazing sale they had going on.
Here is my bridal set. What I love the most about my rings besides the fact that it’s gorgeous is that it’s a family heirloom. My SO’s grandmother gifted it to him to give to me to be used as our engagement and wedding ring. I had previously been wearing a yellow gold solitaire engagement ring purchased from Zales. I’ve been engaged for 2 years by the way.. Anyway here is the ring!!
Last but not least here are the colors we want to use with the addition of white and a monogram I made using photoshop.
Thanks for reading!!
