Thought I’d share something interesting – I was talking with a man I work with today about his girlfriend. Turns out, they’ve been dating for several years and he’s been carrying the engagement ring around for eight months! He said he’s just waiting to find the perfect moment. I told him he must be driving her crazy! I’m not disclosing any deets since the lucky lady may very well be a bee 🙂
So, ladies, if you’ve picked out a ring and SO seems to be dragging his feet…it may be because he wants to do something amazing for you 🙂

I just wish my SO would realise that there is no perfect moment.
The fact that he is asking me to spend the rest of our lives together would be more perfect than I can ever imagine.

Eight months, wow! And I thought it was killing me that Darling Husband had mine for two before he proposed.

Wow! My Fiance had my ring less than 24 hours when he proposed. I can’t imagine him waiting that long. Especially w/o me finding it LOL!

Id be lying if I said there wouldn’t be an arm punch and a “what the hell were you thinking?” involved if my guy was carrying a ring around for almost an entire year. Moments aren’t inherently perfect. You make them perfect. What do they say about luck? It’s when preparation meets opportunity? You can’t tell me there wasn’t a single opportunity in 8 months. 🙂

I actually read a story (on a gaming site no less!) about a guy who carried the ring around for FOUR YEARS! He had to have a buddy get a new box before he proposed b/c the old one was so beat up!

@Starshollow: Gah! He needs to put a little more effort into creating the “perfect moment” that he desires if you ask me… instead of waiting for it to happen on its own.

8 months is not too long, in my opinion. Four years? Yes, that is far too long.

My Fi had mine for a year and a half. found out about this yesterday.

I think anything over 6 months would make me question “so when is the right time then?” Surely there has been an opportunity in that time? Gah, men! Haha!
