It isn't very often that I have found myself having a good waiting day.

Firstly I stumbled across a whole season of "Say Yes to the Dress" that I hadn't seen which got me thinking happy excited thoughts.

Secondly I found out that I have lost 5 pounds in a month - I know that doesn't sound like much but for me it is.

    Thirdly I GOT A TIMELINE!!!!!

I basically had a conversation with SO (which he started after realizing what I had been watching) about us getting married and I told him how I felt sometimes about waiting - frustrated and that I didn't ever want to become bitter - and that I knew he had organized a ring - not quite sure if it is in the house yet though Smile - and I was really happy e.t.c and that I loved him but that it is hard sometimes because I have been waiting a long time and that a lot of deadlines that I had put in my head that we would be engaged by had gone past. He appreciated me telling him honestly and calmly and he said that he would give me a real timeline and promised that he would PROPOSE BEFORE CHRISTMAS EVE and that he knew when, how and where he was going to do it and that he hoped that having a timeline would make it easier to wait patiently and enjoy it!!!

I am very excited now - there was a part of me that despite all logical reason never thought it would happen - and I love SO so much and he loves me and we will get married soon!

I hope all the waiting bee's can have good waiting days too and hopefully I won't have any bad ones any more! So many wonderful bee's have made me feel better over the last month or so with their support and hopefully this story will make someone else feel better too - as another bee said to me recently - just enjoy the waiting ride - after all it is only going to happen once :-)

@Novella: That's awesome!! Congrats on the weight loss and timeline! Now... STAY POSITIVE! It's crazy how one teeny tiny negative thought or comment can affect our mood.

    Yay!

@GwenvonD Thanks! Very good point. I'll just come read my post again if I think there are negative thoughts creeping in :-)

Congrats! Sounds like he is totally on board, so even if the deadline comes and goes, no need to start getting bitter even then, IMO. Just keep the lines of communication open. Since you know how he feels, there's nothing wrong with talking about it at all.

But I bet he won't miss the deadline. ;)

Woo timelines!  My SO did the same for me.. as I started getting anxious, he said it would be before new year's eve and that he had a plan.  Well, he just let slip a little tidbit that it will be Oct or Nov (here's to hoping oct).  Soooooo... I guess what I'm saying is I bet he proposes to you a bit before Christmas Eve since he's gotta know that if you tell a lady Christmas Eve and she doesn't have a ring the week of, she's going to be an ancious wreck!
