I have pieced together bits of the Blessing of the Hands and am looking for ideas/revisions/grammatical errors.   Please feel free to give me your advice and opinions!  I need you!

Virginia, please hold FI’s hands so you may see the gift that they are to you.

These are the hands of your best friend.  The hands of the man who is promising to love you today, tomorrow and all the days of his life.

These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together, you build your future.

These are the hands that will applaud you in times of success and catch you in times of struggle.

These are the hands that will hold you when fear or sorrow wracks your mind.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch comfort you like none other.

FI, please hold Virginia’s hands so that you may see the gift that they are to you.

These are the hands of your best friend.  The hands of the woman who is promising to love you today, tomorrow and all the days of her life.

These are the hands that will help you hold your family as one.

These are the hands that will hold you in times of excitement, of hope and of joy.

These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, and console you when you are grieving.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years for a lifetime of companionship.

Virginia and FI please clasp your hands together:

Lord, may these hands always be held by one another.  May they have the strength to hold on through the challenges presented within a lifetime.  May they be tender and gentle as they nurture each other in respect, and in love.

Virginia and FI, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just one touch.

Very cute! I don't like the "success" and "struggle" line. I think the opposite of success should be defeat or something...but other than that love it!

You have just saved me the stress of buying and/or making handfasting cords. What a great idea to convert it to a prayer and split the verses. Stealing!! You rock, VM.

Ooo. This might be a really goos lead-in ritual to our handfasting.... I may steal too.

    I really like it.
