Probably a-line. I have a mermaid crinoline and the poof starts at my knees. In the model picture, it flows more like an a-line. You could always try both, though, and see which works better for you!
I think you will need an a-line crinoline to get the look the model has.
Personally I like it better how you have it with the mermaid crinoline!
the model, at her waist seems really tight..and an aline cirnoline kinda flares at the waist,..if that makes sense..unless i alter teh crinoline?
It looks great both ways, but I think the Aline if you're trying to achieve the look of the first pic. Beautiful dress!
I like the mermaid much much better. It's very flattering and creates a gorgeous subtle sexy curve. Then again, I'm biased. I hate a-line dresses, they look like prom dresses to me!
@OnceUponATime: that's a thought-prom dresses :) don't know...sometimes I feel you know, you get to dress up once in your life like a princess or whatever so that is where I think of hmm..should I do a-line?
@bump: I think you should wear whatever makes YOU feel best! If your goal is to feel princess-y, then do it! Who cares what we think? This is your one wedding, and if an a-line makes you feel great, do it! That's all that matters :)
@OnceUponATime: hey! did you change your mind on your DB lace dress? are you gonna sell and get a diff. one? you have a lot of time til your wedding. which dress are you gonna get?
ETA: why did you change yoru mind?
I think the model looks that way because of how she is standing. She looks like she is standing in such a way that the dress is slightly too long on one side. Not sure whether that could be accomplished with a crinoline, but since all the other pics you posted look good, it seems you really can't lose.
This is purely my preference, but I prefer the mermaid look on you. I love the fittedness (i know, not a word haha) on you and think that the a line takes away from that! :)
@bump: Yep, I am definitely selling mine.. which stresses me out so much. I paid over $1000, and I know I won't get it all back. It's really pretty, but I changed my mind because I wanted more body at the bottom and some sparkle. My mom cried when she saw me in this, and I made a rushed decision. :(
Here's a pic, but i'm guessing you already saw it!

Now I'm torn between these (and whatever else floats my way!)

@OnceUponATime: yup I saw your posts! originally, I liked that lace one with the banding in the middle :) love it-it is perfect on you..post pix of the maggie when you get some! good luck!
@bump: I will!! The salon wouldn't let me take any :/ boo. Oh well, I hope to go soon and figure this mess out! Thanks for the support!!
& good luck picking out some crinoline. (I still think you should rock the mermaid, but your figure is gorgeous either way!)

I have a mermaid crinoline but what crinoline do you think the model is wearing to get that affect? Which do you think would look better?
This is me with the mermaid cirnoline, Should I stick with mermaid or get a-line to poof it out in a different way??
heres' a pic of a bee who used a full aline:
