- Wedding: June 2011
I’ve been crawling like a mad-woman all over the boards looking for inspiration, specifically dress inspiration, since I’ve been humming and hawing over what look/feel will work with our venue/tone & what I like etc, you know the general preliminaries before I actually go out and actually try anything on.
Well, my son generally has no interest in weddings whatsoever, being 3.5 and all, he’d rather give me his opinion on what transformers like to eat for breakfast than what he thinks of flowers or a song.
So, as I’m browsing through some of the ‘show me your dresses’ threads, he comes over to see what’s up and instantly goes into panic mode
“MOM?! What are those girls DOING?!?!” he asks, pointing in horror to some brides in their dresses [or the models] “DON’T THEY KNOW THEY’RE DRAGGING THEIR DRESSES ON THE GROUND?!?!”
‘Oh, it’s called a train sweetie, the dresses are supposed to be like that.’
he looks at me, absolutely confounded.
“Mom. Girls are weird. Their dresses are going to get all dirty. That is just SILLY.” he is dead serious. “Besides, trains go on tracks, not dresses.”
I honestly laughed for quite a bit.
But it got me thinking, I’ve been really lucky that this is the most ‘ridiculous’ family input, so far.
