So I was just wondering if any of you bees were gifted things for your wedding from people that just went above and beyond and if you did a little something extra as a thank you.
DH and I had several people gift us things that were completely unexpected and very very above and beyond! Like my baby sitter from when I was little purchased us our kitchenaid mixer, mind you she is a single lady and sadly I don’t get down to visit with her and her family more than once every couple years. One couple alone bought us our 12 setting crystal china. And there are a few others that I feel like just a thank you card isn’t enough to show how truely thankful we are.
I mean those gifts are just amazing and so much, and we appreciate it so much and are so thankful. So is it ok to send a little gift along with their thank you note. I was thinking of making cookies for my babysitter and sending them with her thank you note and going down to visit in the next couple of months. And we are still trying to think of something super special for the couple who got us the china. I just want to make sure it isn’t odd or a bad idea to do this? We just want to show how thankful we truely are for the generosity.

I think that is a really sweet gesture – I’m sure they will be very appreciate of it.

I think cookies would be a great idea esp to tell her you made them with the mixer!

I love the cookie idea because I love when I get cookies in the mail.

yay! thank you ladies! my mom made me second guess the “properness” of giving gifts along with a thank you card for wedding gifts. But you guys have reassured me!

That was so thoughtful of the couple who bought you the China! I think you could maybe do a little gift package for them that says thank you but still doesn’t make it feel like you’re paying them back. If they are wine drinkers you could send a bottle of wine and maybe include some pictures that they were in from the wedding.
I can understand how this is so difficult. Good luck!

For the couple who bought you china, it also might be nice to have them over for a dinner party where you could use it :0).

@jo.lee:I wish we could but they live a state over and it takes about 5 hours to get there! I think we are going to go down and visit with them, and bring them a picture framed of us and them from the wedding, and do a couple other little things. They are the closest people I have to grandparents (all of mine have passed away) so they love spending time together the most which is hard to do but I def. want to make it happen asap!

My sister got married a couple of years ago and had some similar situations happen. When she got back the pictures from the wedding she found pics with these people in them and had them framed and sent them to them as her extra little thank you.
