    I looked up “Female Groomswoman” on Google. I went from initially favouring the female wearing a tux, like the men… to something like this:

    Instead of the female groom holding a bouquet, you could opt for a boutonniere.

    @Cynderbug:  I like this, too.

    Don’t put her in a tux or a suit or whatever just b/c she’s part of the bridal part on the groom’s side – have her wear a dress in the color of the tuxes.  Brilliant.

    I take it from your options that you’re not open to her matching your bridesmaids? I think suits are a bit weird on women if you’re not in a business meeting or very butch, but that’s just my opinion.

    ETA: I like the idea of putting her in a black dress to kinda match the groomsmen (or whatever color they’re wearing)

    I have to wear business suits on occasion and am super picky about the cut/length/fit. The suit would have to be super-fitted to work on a lady.

    OP, have you tried asking your mutual female friend to see what she would prefer? Usually, that would spark up some kind of inspiration. Also, there are a LOT of fun collared/tuxedo dresses out there: check out ModCloth, Unique Vintage; etc.

    Here’s another one I saw on Etsy: super cute & feminine

    @Brittyboo:  I’m really intrigued to know what she chooses. The tux dresses are really cute.

    @futuremrsk18:  +1.  Put her in something that a woman would normally wear to a wedding (aka, cocktail or evening dress) but in a colour to match the grooms men.

    I wouldn’t do the tux dress! I don’t think it’s cute at all. I wouldn’t want to bring too much attention to the fact that she’s a girl and on the groomside. That’s why I like – if the guys are wearing grey suits, put her in a matching grey dress – black suits, black dress, etc. It doesn’t attract too much attention to it and she’ll probably be most comfortable that way.

    @Brittyboo:  I’m going to be a “groomsmaid” for my brother (with one other bestman) and his FI will have her brother as a “bridesman” (with one other MOH). I’ll wear the same dress as the MOH) and the bridesman will wear the same suit as the bestman – should look pretty cool!

    I think putting her in the sam colour dress as the groomsmen look great. Maybe her accessories could match their ties

    Mr CL had a best man and a best woman.  We let her choose what to wear, expecting her to pick a suit (as she basically never wears dresses/skirts) but she chose to wear a dress instead.  The men were all in grey, so she chose a grey dress with some purple accents to go with the theme.  Her dress actually turned out to be similar to the bridesmaids’ dresses, in that they were all in chiffon and a similar length.  She even chose more or less the same style of shoes as the bridesmaids!
