@Natalieh86: the cake stand was one of my favorites.
@sarahbabs:we did have a blast. I was just giddy all night and was so pleased that people stayed for so long. My side of the family is pretty crazy and his side of the family is pretty mellow so it was an interesting mix.

Hi Hive!
Wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from our July 30th celebration. We were wed in a traditional Catholic ceremony followed by a modern and lively partay! We had a 7pm ceremony and it seems like the night flew by in warp speed. I highly recommend a first look for any evening wedding as I truly cherished the quiet time alone with my groom before the festivities began, otherwise there would have been no extra time for us. I was planning the wedding from out of town and was very lucky to have the support of my mom and sisters to help everything come together. My florist said to just trust him so I really had no clue on what the room or flowers would look like until I arrived. He did not disappoint!
We never had a chance to eat, only the wonderful cake, however several guests said the food was amazing so I’ll have to trust it was. Out of town planning was really stressful, but I must say my vendors and friendors came through to make it an unforgettable evening. My groom gave a very touching welcome speech between our first dance and the blessing of the food and it was one of my favorite parts of the evening. He spoke of how he looked around the room and saw all the love and support of everyone there and how we were blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives. I can’t remember what all he said, (he did say I was beautiful
) but it was just so touching to feel the love and hear his words and see the smiles and taste the cake…a complete magical blur! All photos by The Gallery Balthazar
Unfortunately, this beauty overheated due to the scorching Houston temps and broke down about a block from the hotel. I guess the 'just married' sign was a bit premature! So we jumped in one of the photographer's Corolla to get to the chapel on time!
We did the Father/Daughter & Mother/Son dances together. However, after the first few minutes of the song, it turned into the family dance where we all stood in a circle with our siblings and then somehow we all starting kicking like a drill team. I'm not sure if this was cute or slightly obnoxious, but we enjoyed it nonetheless!
A ton of our guests were celebrating birthdays, including my oldest sister. We got b-day tiaras and cupcakes to recognize everyone. There were about 14; everyone loved their shout outs.
Here's the middle sister doing her Oprah car giveway. "You get a cupcake, and you get a cupcake! Ha - ppy Birth - day!"
I didn't have an exit planned. Most weddings I've been to, people leave early and the B/G end up staging the exit anyway. We had so much fun that they basically had to turn on the lights at the reception to get us and the guests to leave (in a good way) The sisters gave all the late partiers rose petals from the decor and voila! we had a grand exit.
My husband's FAVORITE movie is 'Coming to America' so everyone starting singing a song from the movie, "she's your queen to be..." the last two pics show him really enjoying the serenade!
