I have been thinking a lot today about how I can take my focus off of waiting and putting my focus on other things.. and have decided that for the next while, instead of DYING waiting for a proposal, I will identify things about myself that I would like to change or improve before I am in the spotlight of my friends and family.
Some ideas are some obvious ones: going to the gym and eating much more healthy in order to look good and feel great for pictures and the big day, organize my life more, put more effort into my friendships, doing extra little things for my SO to keep our spark alive…
Any other ideas or suggestions? Has anyone else tried regrouping? I just feel like I have spent so much time the past little while focused on an engagement and forgot about other things. I want to be the best me when he proposes and I wont be that if I have been an emotional and physical mess lately.. and who knows, maybe my SO will notice and want to put a ring on it quicker!
New self-confidence, here I come!

Good for you! I am doing the same thing! I’ve always gone to the gym, but I went for a girls weekend with my best friend out of town and went shopping, and am going out w/ friends from the gym for drinks tonight (they invited me and I said hey, why not!) I am trying to make plans and keep in touch w/ friends, and do stuff for myself without my SO. When I came back from my girls weekend, he was all lovey and excited to see me, as I was to see him. Time apart can be great! Just be happy, and do stuff for yourself!

@Seashells7: Good for you ladies!!! I’m also doing the same thing! Going to the gym more and eating healthy ( Just started the gym about a week ago woo!)
I also want to start doing more things for my SO. Like romantic dinners and things!

I think that’s excellent! Good for you. 🙂 I wish I had friends here to go get a drink with (moved and have struck out so far in the friends dept 🙁 ) but I am focusing on my running, keeping in touch with friends back home, and also (not the biggest thing but it makes me feel good) doing my usual experimenting with makeup/nail polish stuffs. I am not over the top with it, but SO always notices when I go the extra mile and says so. 🙂

@Seashells7: Sounds like a great plan! I’m also trying to put some energy into de-cluttering (old papers, old clothes, etc) in preparation for possibly moving in together down the road. I don’t know if you’re already living together, but regardless, de-cluttering might still make you feel good if you’ve got any hidden packrat tendencies like I do! 🙂
