…that’s a really long time to wait, right? I called yesterday morning to follow-up and ask for my results, and no one has called me back yet. Should I call again today? I don’t have the results, but they had no issue charging me the lab fee for them.

@coffeegal85: Yes, that’s way too long! I just had mine done and had results 3 days later. I would call them and demand some kind of explanation.

@coffeegal85: Are you worried it’s not a healthy result? I sometimes don’t hear back from my dr about a pap unless there’s reason to concern. If it’s important to you to know, keep calling and ask when they were be available.

my dr told me “no news good news, if we don’t call you everything is ok”.
if you’re worried call again, though

@love108: Yes, I’m worried it is abnormal. I had 2 abnormals, then 1 normal. I am hoping to have another normal, making it 2 normals in a row.
@bebero: I used to think that too, but I had 1 gyno not release my test results either, so I thought well it must have been normal, come to find it my pap was actually abnormal.
For whatever reason, I have really bad luck with finding responsible gynos.

Every gyno I’ve been to doesn’t contact you post-pap unless there is a problem. So if I don’t hear anything, the results were normal.

I called again and they finally gave me the results. They were abnormal 🙁 Sucks…

Never assume that the results are normal if you don’t hear from the doctor or the office. There have been many cases where a clerk filed abnormal results that should have been directed to the doctor for review.
Always follow up on any medical tests. We are able to be emailed the results of lab tests directly. Check and see if that is available where you live.
